What to Wear
Students must wear a black leotard for their ballet class on Tuesday with hair in a bun, pink ballet stockings and canvas ballet shoes.
For tap, students must wear black lace up tap shoes on Tuesdays.
Students must also pack their jazz shoes for their jazz, musical theatre and technique classes. Seniors will also train in chorus shoes - for beginners, they will need the black Bloch split flex 2.5 heel.
All performance stream members are required to purchase a Performance Stream jacket.
We also ask that performance stream students wear CDT merch to classes. Dancers need to dress the style, so pack baggy clothes for hip hop and dance gear for other classes.
Hair must be tied back.
Exams
Tap and Ballet students have the opportunity to sit an examination for the grade they learn in class. If the teacher feels they are ready to take part in the exam, they will take the next steps to prepare.
Tap students learn the Glenn Wood Tap syllabus, 2025 exams will be Saturday 28th June. Ballet students learn the RAD Ballet syllabus. Exam students must do additional ballet workshops to prepare for their exam.
There are additional fees for exams that differ depending on what level exam they are sitting. Exams can either be paid in full at the start of Term 3 or added to your invoice and included in your direct debit. This is decided upon enrolment and cannot be changed.
Communication
CDT hold communication in very high regard.
We send out a weekly updates to both email and through our BAND app.
